Beaver Island Birding Trail - Crazy as a ...

The newly-opened Beaver Island Community Center had large banners easily visible from the inbound Emerald Isle Ferry: "Welcome Birders". There are 30+ viewing sites marked throughout the island. Fox Lake is a loon breeding spot and offered me the opportunity to watch a parent work the edge of the lake while the young one floated along and was fed with each dive's bounty.
