Time Spent with a Horned Lark

I was cruising the Carrizo Plains looking for wildflowers. This is not the year for a super bloom and even a standard bloom seems elusive. I did see a Horned Lark on a stump and watched and listened for at least ten minutes. I even had time to change lenses.
