Two Museums on Day 2 in LA and Then Backcountry

A couple of months ago, I booked a 10 a.m. ticket for the Jasper Johns retrospective at the Broad LA Museum. I had breakfast at Wexler's Old School Deli Soul Food in the Grand Central Market, a hub for the downtown area. It is just a few blocks from the Broad. Wexler's Big Poppa breakfast bagel started the day. A Broad highlight was the two Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms, one of which is a walk-in experience. After that, I explored the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) across the street from the Broad and went through a photography exhibit there (Real Worlds: Brassaï, Arbus, Goldin). I then hit the road (big time) and went up I-5 to Tejon Pass and took a left to go through the Lockwood Valley and Los Padres National Forest on the way to the Carrrizo Plain National Monument in search of wildflowers. A nice contrast. I finished the day with the trip home through the Edna Valley which has budding vines and mustard plants in bloom.
