The Book Passage Travel Writers and Photographers Workshop has consistently amazed me. The evening speakers lead with their humanity. The pre-conference walkabout in San Francisco on Columbus Avenue in North Beach is a favorite.

Working on my shutter speed. Full Stop.

As a break from the seminar, I went to the marsh area behind the flagship mall in Corte Madera. The birds were feeding with a backdrop of San Quentin. The evening before, I stood along side of a true birder who kindly walked me through the evidence that this is gadwall territory, dabbling duck. The second night I was in the corner of the pond hosted by gadwalls.
