Mont St. Michel
Lucky to catch this World Heritage Site. We got the tickets near the base of town and hustled up to the front gate which closed at 5pm. That timing allowed on hour in the towers with light tourist traffic.
The huge attraction to me was the tidal swing, close to the Bay of Fundy records in Nova Scotia. Below is a shot after low tide ebbed.
Friend Sonya pointed out the 'through the window' perspective which I loved. Again, the tidal plains were dramatic.
The day ended in the medieval town of St. Malo just west of Mont St. Michel along the coast. This city was a port for ferries across the Channel and to the offshore islands of Jersey and Guernsey (next trip).
